Every summer we head over to Spokane to spend at least a week with the family. We finally had some hot weather this year, after a couple years of cooler temps. This meant we could have much water-based fun. Good weather was not the highlight of the trip, however. We were able to spend a lot of time with Grandma and Papa, and also got to see a lot of other family as well. We had a great visit and can't wait to see everyone again at Thanksgiving.
First thing we did after the long drive was get in the pool
I had to warm up to the pool, I liked the stairs a lot
No we're not at the circus and that's not a bear
Floating around with Grandma - she'd paddle, I'd kick
Floating around with Grandma - she'd paddle, I'd kick
I even swam in the river with Grandma
Taking a little stroll with Great Grandpa
See Uncle Kev, my dada takes me fishing
Ok, you're right Mama - I should have worn my sandals, it's a little rocky.
Degree of difficulty: 6.5
Reading stories with Great Grandpa, he tells them the best.
Sam didn't have the attention span to hang in to the end (and no, the book isn't upside down, it switches over in the middle)
My parents wonder how long we'll act like this
Poolside at the Grandparents - life is good
Grandma Bonnie was about the only one I could trust not to dunk me under
Uncle Bob brought us cool toys and got down to play with us
Not sure why the real carousel was scary this year, but this one was more my style
Ah, Shaved Ice - much better than the "Five O'clock Shadow Ice" they were selling down the way
Shadle Park Pool - my favorite part of the trip
I can even jump off the side here - stuck the landing
We also hit up a Splash Pad - not sure if this is recommended, but it's dang hot here.
