The Fair and More

We went to the fair last week and let's just say that I was not a fan. The smell started it all off then my senses went crazy (hey, I'm learning about my 5 senses this week in school). Sounds of the loud animals and all the people were overwhelming. I did however find a cute little chick in a quiet place. In other news my mom's cousin came up this week with her mom and two boys. The boys were a bit older than me but I sure had fun playing with them (especially Finn!). I told my mom that I want to go visit him tomorrow....we'll see.

Dear God, please help this baby chick escape this crazy place
That may be a smile??
Ridin' the tractor....papa, I'm ready for my own!
"Fishing" with Jude during school
L for Lily!
Playing in the backyard with Sam...we are enjoying each other's company a lot more these days
Showing the boys around Bellingham
Grandma and I were searching for baby crabs. The tide was really low!
Happy Girl!

Swimming and School

Mama and dada decided to sign me up for another round of swim lessons. This time my friends Max and Lucy are doing it with me, which is fun! I'm now comfortable jumping off the side to my teacher (in the deep end) and am getting good at blowing bubbles and putting my face in! It is amazing how different it feels from the first day. Along with swim lessons we have been swimming in the lake and the little pool in my backyard.
Last week I also started school! Big news!! Another mama and my mama trade weeks and my buddy Jude and I do school 3 days a week. It is a really great preschool program and I'm learning so much already. Last week it was about how God made me special and I learned about my body. This week we are learning about the alphabet and our names.

Taking a breather from blowing bubbles
Jumpin' off the side -willfully!

Running through the puddles with bear feet and a sucker...what could be better?
Berries from the garden...Yummy!
Swimming up at Lake Whatcom in my floaty
More swimming at the beach
Combing my hair at Grandma's house
School is in session!
Projects...this was Alphabet Soup. We had to match colors and letters.
My name!
I liked this one!! We made pudding together then were supposed to write our names and letters in the pudding. Didn't know about the letter part but I liked playing in the pudding!

Spokane 2010

Every summer we head over to Spokane to spend at least a week with the family. We finally had some hot weather this year, after a couple years of cooler temps. This meant we could have much water-based fun. Good weather was not the highlight of the trip, however. We were able to spend a lot of time with Grandma and Papa, and also got to see a lot of other family as well. We had a great visit and can't wait to see everyone again at Thanksgiving.

First thing we did after the long drive was get in the pool

I had to warm up to the pool, I liked the stairs a lot
No we're not at the circus and that's not a bear
Floating around with Grandma - she'd paddle, I'd kick
I even swam in the river with Grandma
Taking a little stroll with Great Grandpa
See Uncle Kev, my dada takes me fishing
Ok, you're right Mama - I should have worn my sandals, it's a little rocky.
Degree of difficulty: 6.5
Reading stories with Great Grandpa, he tells them the best.
Sam didn't have the attention span to hang in to the end (and no, the book isn't upside down, it switches over in the middle)
My parents wonder how long we'll act like this
Poolside at the Grandparents - life is good
Grandma Bonnie was about the only one I could trust not to dunk me under
Uncle Bob brought us cool toys and got down to play with us
Not sure why the real carousel was scary this year, but this one was more my style
Ah, Shaved Ice - much better than the "Five O'clock Shadow Ice" they were selling down the way
Shadle Park Pool - my favorite part of the trip
I can even jump off the side here - stuck the landing
We also hit up a Splash Pad - not sure if this is recommended, but it's dang hot here.
Why does everyone keep calling me Jackie O? My name is Lily W.
This pool, weather and company is great. Aunt Pam and cousin Carlee joined us here twice.
Big grins after going down that yellow side back there with Mama
What do you mean school doesn't start for a 106 weeks?
Artists at work, hope Papa isn't mad when we sell off part of his driveway
Hangin' with Dada in Leavenworth on the way home
We're contestants #14 in the 'Two Straw water chugging" contest. I don't think Dada was trying his hardest....
