Sunscreen!

I think I sang the Mr. Sun song enough! He decided to come out and play! Just wanted to stop in real quick and share with you the excitement that has been building up over these last few months of dark dreary weather!

Picnics and Portland

Last Saturday was a perfect summer day (yes, the only one we have had so far) so we had our friends come over and even got to run in the sprinkler -that was my favorite part! The mornings are usually gloomy and cloudy if not raining, but we are lucky and usually it clears up by the afternoon. One day last week we walked down at the park and I walked all the way from Boulevard Park to Fairhaven! Whew...I was tired but luckily the market was going on so I could rest in the Village Green and enjoy some fresh green snap peas and strawberries....Yummy!

Finally, we took a trip to Portland to see my Auntie over the weekend and I sure had fun. On the way down we stopped to see my mama's auntie and went out for delicious pizza, my favorite. My brother and I were so good in the car and wonderful sleepers during our visit. We are getting good at this traveling business ;) My Auntie has all the best toys since she works with little kiddos and has so much energy to play with me! We even went to the zoo!

BBQ hamburgers with my friends!
Catching some rare rays at grandma's house
My special flower from the market...too bad it didn't even make it home!
Fresh strawberries! Pretty soon we will be going in the backyard to pick these!
On the way down to Portland we stopped in Seattle for lunch (a crazy one of mom's ideas) but we got to see this really big penguin, which I loved!
Sam and I playing an intense game of Hungry Hungry Hippos
Auntie and I at the zoo
One of the coolest exhibits!
Riding the lion with mama
There was an elephant in there!
Another super duper neat toy....playing the stomp rocket in the rain!

Summer?

School is out, mom is done working, and yet where is the sun? It usually ends up coming out by the end of the day but this rain is getting really tiring! Oh well, soon I guess and another chance to practice patience. Wow, that is hard for a 2 year old! Actually, I'm almost 3 now! Can you believe it? Last weekend I got to meet my mom's good friend from teaching and her husband and little boy, Anthony. I sure liked him and have been talking about Seattle lately. Guess we'll have to go see him now.
Another really fun thing that happened this week was that I got to go to school with my mama. It was sooo fun! I warmed up to the kids quickly and had a blast playing with all the big kids on the playground. They taught me how to jump rope, and I showed them my gymnastics moves! Speaking of, I have to go get ready. Mama is taking me today!

Practicing my 3
Yummy! Eating watermelon...a rare photo of us both sitting still for a second ;)
Dada found me in the bathroom doing my hair just like mama! Cute!
This is our friend Yumin. She loved to play with me last year too!
I asked Julia if she would stand on one foot with me. She agreed!

My Trip to the Hood Canal

Momma, brother, and I were invited to attend my dada's retreat style business trip this week on the Hood Canal. We got to attend a nice dinner, meet lots of great people, and I had a lot of fun. Here is the rest of the story....

First, we drove in the car. Sam and I were playing, laughing, and bonding!
This sign greeted us at the resort (my parents thought it was funny, kind of). I told my dada I really wanted a puppy!
The first day it rained, and I mean RAINED! It was a good thing momma packed some entertaining inside activities along with my raincoat and boots.
During low tide you can collect oysters on the beach. I told dada I would try them next time though - he happily ate my share.
I don't leave home without my bike!
The second day we were there the weather was beautiful. I had so much fun walking on the dock, riding my bike, playing on the swingset, and exploring on the beach during low tide
Walking on the dock
I haven't been to gymnastics in a few weeks so I had to do a few tricks on these rings to practice up for summer session
Family pic
Am I practicing my cheesy smile or trying to get my foot unstuck from the mud? I'll never tell
Low tide was a blast! The baby crabs were everywhere! I don't get the tide concept and apparently it's funny when I ask "Where did the beach go?"
Relaxing after all that playing on the beach. I even got stuck in the muck...check out my pants and shoes!
Dada's coworker Ms. Barb was sure nice. She liked my brother and I and helped us get some dessert!
Mr. Ron is a super nice dude! Too bad his kids couldn't come. Here I am telling him all about my shoes with my hands in my pockets. We had some time for reflection on this trip
We took the ferry home to avoid Friday traffic in Seattle. Wow, now that was a big boat!
