My Birthday!

I'm officially 5 and what a fun day!  I woke up with a little cold the day before and spent all night coughing but I still woke up happy and excited for my birthday.  Mama and Daddy came in with a huge bouquet of purple balloons while singing happy birthday to me!  (Don't you love that it is July and I'm wearing my Christmas jammies?)  And the day began!  .....Pancakes, a trip to the yogurt place, pizza, and smores!  As many of you know, loud noises are one of my least favorite things so fireworks did not entice me to stay up late.  Sam however had a blast with Daddy outside.  We bought a few and the neighborhood was crazy with their own show.  Then they stayed up to watch the big show from the end of the street.  My Auntie Joanie is here visiting and we will have my Fairy Birthday Party on Saturday, I'm so excited!!

Sam came up to wish me happy birthday and got tangled in the balloon madness!

Singing, round 2

Daddy made this microphone for my birthday interview, I should post that here, maybe soon?

Serious business here

Then off on my scavenger hunt for my present.

Sam helped me locate the clues and figure out where I was going

Yay, I found it!

I got a real camera!  This is so exciting!  (I think I may have already filled up the memory?)

Sam enjoying his frozen yogurt

Good thing the sun came out for my  birthday.  This frozen yogurt really hit the spot!

My birthday treat, cupcakes to come Saturday.

Grandma Katie came over to celebrate with me, we miss you Papa!

Opening more presents

Sam even got a present on my birthday!

These two decided to dress patriotic but looks like Nicholas lost a sock

Ready to go to dinner.  I have my new purse from Grandma Bonnie and Papa Jim.  It has all the necessities, including lip gloss!

Mama and I at dinner.  I'm getting tired!

Cheese, can't I go to sleep?
Sam had a fun way to eat his birthday skewer, silly  brother

A short second wind for a smore, don't worry I didn't eat all the brownie or smore

We had to get jumbo marshmallows since they were the only ones left at the store, have you seen those things?

I must be sleeping but these two had a blast.  Happy 4th of July Everyone!

Muddy Mayhem!!

I think I'll remember this day for a long time!  What a fun day it was!  First, we went to Mass, followed by a little play and donuts, then we headed out to my Grandma and Papa's house.  My Aunt Julie, Uncle Kevin, and cousin Maggie were able to join us today and I was so glad to see my cousin!  We played and played.  My favorite part was the mud, and I mean MUD!!  They are building on to their bathroom and making a spot for a swim spa so after yesterdays thunder and lightening storm, with the biggest raindrops we have ever seen, there was plenty of mud for Maggie and I to play in.  My brother Sam did not want to join us and thought we were pure crazy!
This is me in the backyard watching the storm from under the big umbrella, with my umbrella.

The beginning, notice my clean white shirt?

My cute cousin Maggie.  She LOVES the swing!

Getting a little dirtier!

I told my mama this was more fun than catching frogs!

Maggie thought it was pretty fun too!

It is great being a kid!

Maggie even got some on her lips, hoping she didn't eat any!

I asked my mom if I could take all my clothes off, but this is as close as I got to a full mud bath.  Felt good!

All cleaned up and hanging out with my baby brother.  Nicholas liked hanging out with his Auntie Julie.

Track Night and a Field Trip

Monday nights in Bellingham the Parks and Rec put on a track and field night for all ages, babies to adults!  We decided to go check it out and Sam and I raced.  It was fun!  We don't really understand the whole winning or competition yet, but it will come soon enough we are sure.
Sam waiting for the events to start.  He liked the numbers on the field.
Landing the long jump!
Daddy is rooting me on!
Practicing before the actual races.
Look at that smile!
Racing!  Jumping hurdles!
Here I am jumping hurdles, they must raise them up a little for the next age group?
Love the cheers!
Rooting on my brother!  (Notice all the other racers?)
So proud of him!
We went on a little walk after dinner the other day and baby fell asleep, so sweet!
I think I have shared before about our biweekly meetings with two family friends.  We are trying to venture outside now that it is summer.  Yesterday we went to one of Mrs. Segel's friend's farms.  We saw a lot of cows and even got to hang out with some  babies.  I was scared at first of the loud mooing noise but I soon realized that they were calm.  I warmed up and even petted some of the babies.  Sam loved the place!  He especially enjoyed the "petting cow" as he called him.  He was the cow that wasn't afraid of all the kids and enjoyed a lot of love from us.  After our time at the farm we went up and had a picnic on a nice hill at her house.  We played and explored the outdoors, one of my favorite things to do.  I found all kinds of "treasures" and took off my shoes to store them in.  What a fun day!

This was the "petting cow" and here is Sam and Mary
I think he wants to live on a farm!
All the kids and mommies
Me petting one of the cows.  I didn't really like the feel of his tongue, I said it felt like "crust running across my hand."
Nicholas enjoying the picnic afterwards in his seat.  He was getting some rare vitamin D.
